Imvelo Urban Farms are intended to serve as safe havens & a source of food security for vulnerable communities. The lifestyle that these farms support is inclusive, provides training, is a sanctuary, promotes holistic living & empowers people whilst creating a sustainable food production & retail model that can be replicated all over SA. The broader vision for Imvelo is to integrate into all types of communities & as such form part of the urban fabric. A place to belong, be loved, contribute & grow.
The first incubator project will take place at Cemetery View informal settlement in Woodlands, Pretoria East. This will become the flagship site which will eventually be rolled out in various other locations.

The multifunctional space will break down barriers over time and offer food security solutions through an integrated food system. The aim will be to offer both education and providing entrepreneur concepts so that people become self reliant within the bigger system.
